Why 37 Days?

About

37 Days is a program founded by four brothers. Along with all the positives of our generation’s technological advances also come a lot of negatives.

37 Days is a community countering a culture engineered for instant hits—helping people escape loops and addictions to refocus on what truly matters.

Why 37

This challenge was started as a tribute by four brothers honoring their uncle Barry Hunt, who passed away at 18.

His story reminds us to live fully, and his birthday, March 7th (3/7), inspired these 37 days. It’s our goal to get away from the distractions—and help others do the same.

37 Days Rules

We encourage you to follow all of these rules. But if you think it's too much and need to remove some—or if you want to add your own—that's fine.
Educational Content Only
Avoid non-educational content that doesn’t directly benefit your goals. This includes TV shows, movies, or YouTube videos purely for fun.

Exceptions: Documentaries, tutorials, or content that helps you improve. Special Case: If family or friends turn something on, it’s okay to watch within reason. Just don’t let it become a distraction.
Social Media (No Scrolling)
Avoid mindless scrolling and short-form content. This includes Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat Spotlights, etc.

Exceptions: Use social media only if absolutely necessary for work or essential communication. Get on, do what you need to, and get off.
Video Games
Avoid all video games on any platform (console, mobile, PC, etc.).

Exceptions: For the most part none. This is a full break from gaming distractions. Special Case: If you think you have a valid reason for an exception feel free to ask for input in the discord server.
Inappropriate or Sexual Content
Avoid any media that is sexually explicit or inappropriate. This includes all forms of sexually provocative or otherwise unproductive content.

None. Keep your media consumption clean.
Alcohol
Avoid all alcoholic beverages for the entire 37 days. This includes beer, wine, liquor, hard seltzers, and “just a sip” at events.

Exceptions: For the most part none but if you feel like you have a valid reason share it in the discord.
Drugs
Avoid recreational use of all drugs. This includes nicotine, weed, and similar substances.

Exceptions: Prescribed medication is fine. This rule is about avoiding recreational use—apply it based on your personal context.
